Test 3

Winning the war on COVID

NORTH ATTLEBORO - COVID statistics throughout Massachusetts continue to improve as residents lead the nation in getting their vaccinations.

Although the area isn’t as low as the rest of the Bay State, the numbers are a big improvement compared to statistics from a year ago.

North Attleboro remains in the yellow category according to data released by the Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health on Thursday.

The town had a positivity rate of 2.88 percent with 50 cases reported over the past two weeks. Towns the size of North Attleboro are listed as yellow if they have more than an average of 10 cases per 100,000 residents.

Plainville is now in the gray – the best of the four colors – with a positivity rate of an even two percent with only eight cases the past two weeks.  Towns the size of Plainville are listed as grey if they have less than or equal to 10 total cases.

Those numbers are expected to fall as more residents receive their vaccine appointments.

North Attleboro’s Public Health Director and Nurse Anne Marie Fleming spoke to North TV on Thursday about the gains being made.
