Test 3

Plainville candidates debate

PLAINVILLE - Candidates in the town’s three contested races squared off in debates Thursday night live on North TV.

The first debate featured the two candidates seeking one five-year seat on the town’s planning board. Tina Desprez and Tom McHugh answered questions from the panelists for the night, Plainville residents Kathy Parker and Luke Travis.

The two candidates seeking one three-year term on the King Philip regional school committee were next. Incumbent Gregory Wehmeyer and Daniel Amicone debated for nearly a half-hour.

The race for a one-year seat on the select board capped the night with incumbent Stanley Widak, Jr. and Maggie Clarke answering questions from the panelists, one from each other and one from the moderator.

Each of the three debates ended with the candidates delivering closing statements.
