Request of downtown residents denied

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The concerns of South Washington Street residents were on the agenda when the town’s traffic study advisory group met Thursday afternoon.

The busy street leading to and from North Attleboro’s downtown was reviewed by the police department after an adopted traffic calming policy with electronic signs flashing the speed of approaching cars in relation to the 30 mile per hour limit was put in place.

Residents had hoped to have the speed limit reduced to 25 m.p.h.
