Test 3

Strong second half propels Shamrocks

ATTLEBORO - A consistent effort paid off for the Bishop Feehan Shamrocks girls basketball team in a 61-47 win over Catholic Central League rival, Archbishop Williams.

The inside tandem of senior Kyla Cunningham and junior Camryn Fauria gave Archie’s fits all night.

Fauria used her combination of quickness and strength to rack up buckets in the paint. She would finish the night with a team-high 14 points, which included a 3 point make. On the back of her stellar performance, Fauria was named North TV’s Player of the Game.

Cunningham made her presence felt from the free throw line, knocking down 7 freebies to make up a bulk of her 12 points.

Despite coming into the game at just 3-6, the Bishops came into the McIntyre Gymnasium ready to push the Shamrocks and kept the game tied at 11-11 going into the second quarter.

With consistent play in the middle quarters, Feehan would extend the lead to 10 going into the final 8 minutes. Cool hands from the free throw line would end up clinching the game for the Shamrocks, improving their record to 8-2 on the year.

Also on the scoresheet for Bishop Feehan was Olivia Franciscus (7 points), Olivia Olson (7 points), Lydia Mordarski (6 points), Meghan Rapose (5 points), McKenzie Faherty (3 points) and Samantha Reale (3 points).
