NORTH ATTTLEBORO - An additional 85 affordable housing units may be coming to town. Town Manager Michael Borg informed the town council about details of a new proposal during the board's meeting Monday (May 11) night.
Great Bridge Properties would like to construct an apartment complex on John Dietsch Boulevard in woods across from Barrrett's Alehouse.
The complex would abut the Interstate 95 off ramp and the North Attleboro Industrial Park.
Great Bridge is the same company that converted the former Jeweled Cross company building into Jewell Cross apartments. That facility opened two years ago and houses 66 affordable units.
The proposed apartments would raise the town's percentage of affordable housing a full percentage point to 4.5. The state has set 10 percent as a target for affordable housing.
