NORTON - Former New England Patriot, three-time Super Bowl champion, and North TV football color commentator Joe Andruzzi surprised a local woman Tuesday with a year’s worth of groceries and water.
Carrie Foster, a mother of two, is undergoing treatment for cervical cancer and unable to work.
She thought she was taking part in a promotional video when trucks from Stop & Shop and Poland Spring arrived on her street.
The two companies also donated $25,000 each to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.
The foundation grew out of Andruzzi’s own successful battle with cancer and the work of he and his wife Jen. The couple have dedicated their lives toward solving the financial distress a cancer diagnosis can cause in the lives of patients and their families.
