NORTH ATTLEBORO - State Rep. Betty Poirier was among the hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts' residents watching the peaceful demonstration outside the State House and the destruction that ensued at the nearby Downtown Crossing shopping district.
Poirier addressed those incidents and the anger displayed across the country that followed the death of George Floyd during recorded remarks she made for North TV's "North Attleborough This Week."
"It is so difficult to understand what happened last week to George Floyd, who died because of the action of police officers who chose to keep him down and unable to breathe…until he died. The people of this country are so distraught over this needless action that we have seen tremendous numbers of people express great anguish and create tremendous destruction because of these actions," Poirier said.
