Officials concerned about bird deaths

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Wildlife officials along the east coast are concerned about a mysterious disease killing birds in Mid-Atlantic states.

Although there have been no confirmed cases in Massachusetts, officials are asking residents remove birdbaths and feeders from their yards.

North Attleboro Health Director and Public Health Nurse Anne Marie Fleming and Health Agent Sheri Miller-Bedau spoke to North TV on Wednesday about the directive and if there is a known cause.

Residents should report the sighting of dead birds or those in distress to the health department at 508-699-0103.
