NORTH ATTLEBORO - Tuesday night's field hockey game at the Beaupre Field was a perfect example of how records can be deceiving.
It looked like it would be a long night for the 1-3 Red Rocketeers when Canton scored exactly three minutes into the game.
North played even with the 4-0 Bulldogs through the rest of the first half, however, until giving up another goal late in the second quarter.
The Red Rocketeers had their best scoring chances in the second half but could not slip the ball past the Canton goalie.
Goalie Hannah Bachand had a strong game in net for North keeping the game close by kicking away a number of Bulldog shots from close range.
The two teams will meet again Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at Canton High School.
Tuesday night's game was cablecast LIVE on North TV's Community Channel and streamed on the North TV website.
The game will be replayed throughout the week on Comcast channel 15 and Verizon channel 24 in North Attleboro.
