North Attleboro – A new roof for the Community School will have to wait. Acting Town Manager Michael Gallagher told the Town Council Monday night that the project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
The council had approved funding for the project in November. It is expected to cost more than $1 million.
Gallagher said the municipal building commission suggested the delay. Requesting bids in the spring could push the costs higher, as large construction firms are booked solid for the upcoming summer.
The commission suggested the town seek bids this October or November for the summer of 2021.
Councilors were not happy with the delay.
