NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town took a big step in attracting more commercial development Monday night.
The town council voted 6-0 – councilors Mark Gould, John Simmons and Andrea Slobogan missed the meeting – to approve a multi-use overlay district that would allow housing and commercial development in areas including the downtown, Emerald Square mall and Kelley Boulevard.
Before the vote, Councilor Dan Donovan explained the reasoning for the amendment to the town’s bylaws and why he is supporting the move.
