BOSTON - The number of COVID cases was down slightly in the two towns North TV serves, according to reported cases released by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for the two-week period ending Wednesday.
North Attleboro’s percent positivity dipped compared to the previous two-week period.
The number was 11.92 percent of the 1,477 tests performed over the last two weeks. That percentage equals 163 new cases. The rate is down slightly from last week’s reported 12.10 percent or 168 new cases, 9.95 percent two weeks ago or 132 new cases, and 6.91 three weeks back or 87 new cases.
Plainville’s rate also decreased compared to the past few weeks.
The positivity rate was 12.03 percent of the 507 tests performed over the past two weeks. That percentage equals 55 new cases. The rate is less than last week's 13.21 or 67 new cases. It was 11.80 two weeks ago or 58 new cases and 8.09 percent three weeks back or 33 new cases.
North Attleboro and Plainville are once again higher than the state rate of 8.95 percent. The state’s number increased from 8.11 percent last week, and 6.35 two weeks ago.
North Attleboro Public Health Director and Nurse Anne Marie Fleming updated the town’s board of health on the number of COVID cases as of Tuesday and helped explain some questions people may have.
