NORTH ATTLEBORO - Candidates in North Attleboro’s three contested races debated live on North TV Thursday night.
Coronavirus restrictions forced the debates to be held virtually, the first time in North TV history.
Incumbent Dale Langille and challenger Robert Cote, the two candidates hoping to serve a three-year term on the board of electric commission, were the first to square off.
Three candidates are seeking two three-year seats on the park and recreation commission: incumbent Thomas DiFiore and challengers John Ruppert and Daniel Knight.
School committee hopefuls capped off the evening. Incumbent James McKenna, Talia Yourell (who filled a vacancy on the committee last June) and challengers Sarah Stone and Martin Tragni are seeking the two three-year seats.
Thursday’s debate and Peter Gay’s one-on-one interviews with the candidates can be seen numerous times through the close of polls on Tuesday on North TV’s Government Channel: Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 23.
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. this Tuesday, June 30. Due to the coronavirus, all precincts will cast ballots at North Attleboro High School at 1 Wilson Whitty Way.
North TV’s live election results will be cablecast that night at 8:30 on the Government Channel.
