ATTLEBORO - The state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have opened a Disaster Recovery Center in the city to help local residents impacted by the severe storms and flooding that occurred last September.
Our partners at The Sun Chronicle reported the center is a temporary facility located at Bristol Community College, 1 Willard Road, in Attleboro.
Its hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
You do not need an appointment to visit, FEMA said in a news release issued Tuesday.
Disaster assistance specialists at the center can help residents apply for FEMA Individual Assistance, upload documents needed for their application, and answer questions in person.
FEMA specialists and representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration, which can provide low-interest disaster loans to survivors, will be on hand to discuss available assistance.
Those affected by the disaster do not have to visit the center in order to apply.
Survivors can also register online at DisasterAssistance.gov; by phone at 800-621-3362; or by downloading FEMA’s Mobile App, selecting Disaster Resources and then Apply for Assistance Online.
