NORTH ATTLEBORO - While brush fires in this area aren’t likely to spread the way they do out west, they still can do considerable damage.
The town's fire department responded to a potentially dangerous fire Wednesday at the World War I Memorial Park off of Elmwood Street.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to a nearby structure.
Fire Chief Chris Coleman told North TV on Thursday why this is a dangerous time of year and explained the steps residents must take before burning debris.
