Test 3

DiNardo stadium ready for first pitch

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The Red Rocketeers' baseball team will soon be playing on a new diamond as a result of a $50,000 donation to the high school athletic program from the Gary DiNardo Memorial Fund.

The money was used to renovate the baseball field behind the school.

DiNardo, a 1968 NAHS graduate, played for the Red Rocketeers and then went on to play Division-1 baseball at UMass Amherst.

The Gary DiNardo Memorial Baseball Stadium will be dedicated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 26. The Attleboro at North Attleboro varsity baseball teams will christen the field at 1 p.m.

The ceremony and game will be cablecast live on North TV's Community Channel: Comcast channel 15 and Verizon channel 24. It will also be streamed live on northtv.net.

Nick DiNardo, the eldest son of Gary DiNardo, and Doug DiNardo, Gary’s brother, were at the field Tuesday to record a special edition of North TV's “Inside Look.” Nick explained that NAHS Athletic Director Kurt Kummer put out the call for help.

That special edition of "Inside Look" can be seen in its entirety beginning May 28 on the North TV Community Channel.
