Mask mandate extended in schools

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Massachusetts Education Secretary James Peyser extended a mask mandate for the state’s public schools through at least January 15.

The secretary first issued a mandate in August that was to run through mid-October. He later extended it until mid-November, before making the latest announcement.

Schools can apply for a waiver if 80 percent of students and staff have been vaccinated.
