Plainville man sentenced to 5 years for groping woman

FALL RIVER - A convicted child molester was sentenced to five years in prison for groping the buttocks of a female sales associate at a local furniture store in 2021 while on probation and wearing a GPS ankle bracelet,

Our partners at The Sun Chronicle on Thursday reported David J. Puccio, 54, of 5 Valerie Drive, Plainville, was sentenced in Fall River Superior Court to a 4½- to 5-year jail term after he was convicted of indecent assault and battery in a two-day jury trial last week, according to the district attorney’s office and court records.

The prison sentence will start after Puccio completes a 5-year sentence for violating his probation in connection with an indecent assault and battery of a child conviction in Plainville.

He was found in violation of his probation in December 2022, Greg Miliote, a spokesman for the DA’s office, said.

The indecent assault in North Attleboro occurred on Nov. 3, 2021 at Raymour & Flanigan on Route 1 when a female sales associate was approached by Puccio, who introduced himself by his first name and said he was looking for a bed for his mother, Milliote said.

After the victim showed Puccio around the store for 45 minutes, he declined to purchase anything and then grobed the victim’s right upper thigh and upper buttock area as she was walking him to the door of the store.
