North firefighters had a manic Monday

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The fire department was busy on Monday morning responding to multiple incidents at the same time.

The first call was for a deck fire at the Ledges Condominiums off Mount Hope Street at approximately 11:30 a.m.

First-arriving fire trucks found a fire on an attached deck that had extended up the side of the building.

The fire had been extinguished by the homeowner.

Firefighters ensured the fire had not spread inside the building and evacuated smoke from inside the condo unit.

Another 911 call was received while firefighters were still on that first call about smoke coming from a mobile home off Plain Street.

North Attleboro Fire Deparment chief officers were dispatched, along with mutual aid from Attleboro and Plainville.

Fortunately, no fire was found and crews determined the smoke was coming from a grill.

While firefighters were leaving that site, another call came in for a motor vehicle crash at Commonwealth Avenue and North Avenue.

Off-duty North Attleboro firefighters staffing a reserve engine, along with mutual aid ambulances, responded to treat and transport the injured parties.
