WRENTHAM - Plainville resident and former information technology director for the town of North Attleboro has been charged with sexually molesting a child in Rhode Island.
Keith A. Mueller, 51, of 18 Taunton St. in Plainville, was arrested by police in that town on March 19 on a fugitive from justice warrant and arraigned in Wrentham District Court on March 20.
Our partners at The Sun Chronicle reported Mueller waived extradition to Rhode Island and the fugitive charge was dropped after he appeared in a Rhode Island court for arraignment on the child molestation charges filed by Johnston police, according to court records and Johnston Police Chief Mark Viera.
Mueller was charged with second-degree child molestation, sexual assault, which allegedly occurred on Feb. 24.
The sexual assault charge is considered a felony.
At his arraignment in the Third Division Court in Providence, bond was set at $10,000 surety with the condition that he have no contact with minors.
Mueller is scheduled to be back in court on June 23.
“Keith Mueller is no longer employed by the town of North Attleboro. As this is a personnel matter, no additional information will be released,” Town Manager Michael Borg told North TV Wednesday afternoon.
