WESTWOOD - The week of October 13 was the busiest yet for the North TV sports crew with EIGHT games in SEVEN days, all LIVE.
We provided coverage of two soccer games on Monday, Columbus Day.
The King Philip boys prevailed on their home turf by beating Bishop Feehan 3-1 in a 10 a.m. start.
The girls followed at noon with the Shamrocks whipping the Warriors 7-1.
Field hockey was the sport on Tuesday when North Attleboro rolled at home over Sharon, 6-1.
Our crew was back at the Raymond E. Beaupre, Jr. Field the next day for the Red Rocketeers 3-nil shutout of Foxboro in boys’ soccer.
The first of three football games we covered was held at Xaverian High School in Westwood.
Tri-County, without a home due to construction of their new high school, scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to rally for a 29-16 win over South Shore Tech.
Two games were on the schedule on Friday.
North Attleboro, on the road, anniahlated Stoughton 42-0.
King Philip, also playing away, toppled Taunton 35-7 to remain undefeated.
The week closed with a Saturday afternoon matinee at KP’s Macktaz Field. Uxbridge tripled King Philip 9-3 in field hockey.
Our Player of the Week comes from Thursday’s football game.
Tri-County wide receiver and safety Jordan Pedro, number 5, had five catches for 79 yards and one touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, he made a number of big tackles.
He also added a PAT kick to be named our Player of the Week.
