PLAINVILLE - Residents attending Monday’s annual town meeting needed only 11 minutes to pass the operating budget for the new fiscal year starting July 1.
The major expenses in the $44.6 million budget are education at $20 million, public safety at $7.8 million, employment benefits at $6.2 million, debt service at $3.1 million, general government at $2.1 million and public works at $1.8 million.
Only two residents spoke about the budget article.
