Test 3

Plainville ready to welcome students back to school

PLAINVILLE - Two local elementary schools are following suit with other local school districts.

Both the Jackson School and Wood School in Plainville will start the year with the same hybrid model as North Attleboro, with the exception of the first week.

All students will take part in a virtual first day of school this Wednesday, September 16.  Half of the student population will attend school on Thursday and the other half on Friday.

Those same groups of cohorts will then attend school on Mondays and Tuesdays with the other half attending on Thursdays and Fridays.  Students will take part in virtual classes on the days they are not in school.

Plainville School Superintendent David Raiche said during an interview with North TV on Thursday that he is confident that the schools are safe for both students and staff.  In addition, he feels the opportunity to be in-person and come to school is something that is important and crucial for kids.
