NORTH ATTLEBORO - The regular season of winter sports concluded last week with three games live on North TV.
We were at Attleboro High School Monday night, February 19, for the semifinal doubleheader of the First Blue Bombardier Classic.
Wellesley, led by Boston Celtics’ president of basketball operations Brad Stevens’ son Brady, beat Bishop Feehan 69-58.
The host Blue Bombardiers coasted past North Attleboro 61-38 in the nightcap.
We were at the Skating Rink of Boston on Wednesday for King Philip’s 1-1 tie with Norwood.
Our Player of the Week for last week was North Attleboro’s Jonnie Obuchowski. Although he only scored 6 points in the game we televised, the junior guard scored a career-high 36 points in Wednesday’s consolation game, an 85-66 loss to Feehan.
That’s quite a week…and worthy of Player of the Week honors.
Jonnie will receive a DVD copy of that game and a Player of the Week t-shirt in North Attleboro red. We’ll announce our Player of the Week for the first week of the state tournament next week at this time.
