NORTH ATTLEBORO - The first game of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association’s state basketball tournament was played at the Pickering Gymnasium and North TV was courtside to bring viewers the LIVE action.
The Red Rocketeers, seeded 31st in the Division 2 girls’ tournament, rolled over number 34 Agawam 49-18 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader.
The North Attleboro boys, also seeded 31st in the Division 2 tournament, took to the court moments after the girls’ big win but fell to number 34 Nashoba Regional 63-59.
Our Player of the Week is Ava Pratt.
The sophomore guard, wearing number 3, scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Red Rocketeers to their first state tournament win in eight years.
Ava will receive a copy of Monday’s state tournament win over Agawam on a USB drive and a North TV Player of the Week t-shirt in North Attleboro red.
