Residents raise concerns about 40R housing

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Town officials hosted a public hearing Wednesday night in the middle school cafetorium for a proposed 300-unit 40R development on Kelley Boulevard at the current location of the Stix Fun Center.

The Massachusetts’ state website explains chapter 40R housing as, “dense residential or mixed-use smart growth zoning districts, including a high percentage of affordable housing units, to be located near transit stations, in areas of concentrated development such as existing city and town centers, and in other highly suitable locations.”

Traffic was the main concern of residents attending Wednesday’s meeting.

Wednesday night’s public hearing can be seen in its entirety on North TV’s Government Channel: Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 23.
