PLAINVILLE - If you travel north on Route 1 in the morning, you were probably wondering why the road was closed on Thursday.
An overnight accident and ongoing roadwork resulted in the closure of the busy roadway from the Dairy Queen in North Attleboro to East Bacon Street in Plainville Thursday.
Plainville police reopened the four-lane road late Thursday afternoon.
The police department posted on their Facebook page the following message when the road reopened, “A hugh thank you to our dedicated police officers, utility workers and MassDOT crews for their hard work and swift efforts in repairing the damage an ensuring the area is safe for traffic. We also want to extend our appreciation to the public to the public for their patience and understanding during this time. Your cooperation and adjustments during the detours and commutes made a big difference.”
