NORTH ATTLEBORO - Davenport division leader, Oliver Ames, came into the Pickering Gymnasium and kept their unbeaten season rolling with a 62-32 win over the North Attleborough Red Rocketeers.
North Attleborough faced the daunting task of trying to break down the size and length advantage that the Tigers roster had over them. For most of the first 3 quarters, the Red Rocketeers had to settle for buckets off of outside jump shots.
Seniors Amanda Kaiser and Cailyn Maxcy both converted from beyond the arc to keep the game tight late into the first quarter. Unfortunately, a late flurry from Oliver Ames blew a 1 point lead into a 10-point advantage going into the second quarter. The Tigers never looked back, holding North to just 13 points in the second half en route to the win.
Maxcy, who had to play more minutes, due to injuries to guards Summer Doherty and Lydia Santos, finished the night with 7 points with two made 3 pointers. This game comes off the back of 10 points on senior night and her consistent performances nabbed her North TV’s Player of the Game against Oliver Ames.
Kaiser, a two-time player of the game, finished with 12 points on 4 made 3 pointers, and North also got offensive contributions from sophomore Ava McKeon with 6 points, junior Mandi Hanewich with 5 points, junior Abby Camelio with 2 points, and junior Carly Guertin with 1 point.
North drops to 4-5 and will travel to Easton to take on the Tigers again on Wednesday.
