NORTH ATTLEBORO - Snow days for town students will be different this coming winter.
School Superintendent Scott Holcomb told members of the school committee during their monthly meeting Monday night's that snow days will be shifted into remote learning days, a move that would eliminate the necessity to make up days at the end of the school year.
When asked what the course load on those day would look like, Holcomb responded that the work would be similar to the current Wednesday remote learning day.
In response to a question from school committee member Ethan Hamilton, Holcomb remarked that he would speak with other Tri-County area superintendents about procedures in announcing to local media outlets on whether the district would be closed or on a remote learning day during winter weather.
The exception to the new policy would be if there is inclement weather that knocks out power within town or in districts where teachers would be working from home. In those cases, a traditional snow day would be announced.
