Thousands greet Santa's arrival in North

NORTH ATTLEBORO - An estimated crowd of 3,000 young and old alike lined North and South Washington streets Sunday to welcome Santa Claus to town.

The 66th Annual Downtown Associates of North Attleborough Santa Parade stepped off from the Baptist Common and ended in front of town hall.

Dance studios, floats, local businesses and organizations, two divisions of classic cars, the North Attleboro High School band and, of course, Santa passed the location North TV was located to produce live coverage of the parade.

Immediately following the parade, the annual lighting of the town Christmas tree and the Veterans Common in front of town hall was held in the town gazebo.

DANA Santa Parade Chair Neal Lambert welcomed the hundred or so people who braved the cold and introduced State Representative Adam Scanlon, Town Council President Justin Pare and Town Manager Michael Borg before Gilmore turned on the lights.
