Turgeon captures AAGA title

NORTON - A veteran of the Attleboro Area Golf Association’s annual four-day tournament is finally its champion.

David Turgeon, a longtime member of Norton Country Club, grabbed the lead with a one-under-par round of 70 during Friday’s second round at Wentworth Hills.

Turgeon never looked back, finishing the 72-hole championship at 2 over par. Jared Winiarz placed second at six over and 2021 champ Bill White was third at seven over.

The 18th hole on Sunday was typical of why Turgeon prevailed, getting up and down for par and the title.
