NORTH ATTLEBORO - Two new businesses are coming to town.
Our partners at The Sun Chronicle reported in Friday’s edition a country store similar to Cracker Barrel with a gas station is planned for Emerald Auto Sales located at 563 South Washington (Route 1) across from Dunkin' Donuts.
The applicant is Route 85 Realty Corp. which is connected to the owners of the nearby Imperial Subaru dealership.
The business owns similar stores in Mendon and Upton and the store will sell such items as penny candy, toys, hardware, and knickknacks.
A Bank of America is also planned for Route 1 at the site of the former TGI Friday’s restaurant.
There is also a Bank of America branch at the corner of Church and North Washington streets in downtown North Attleboro.
Both proposals were presented to members of the planning board last week.
