NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town dedicated its Global War on Terrorism Monument on Saturday, January 20 in the foyer of town hall.
Greg Mayer, president of the Friends of North Attleboro Monuments; former Army Col., now Town Manager, Michael Borg; State Senator Paul Feeney; State Representative Adam Scanlon; and donors addressed the more than 60 people in attendance.
Veterans Agent and former Army Sgt. Maj. Stephen Travers served as master of ceremonies.

The monument dedication was the last official ceremony for Travers. The former Army Sgt. Maj. was confirmed as North Attleboro’s veterans agent in April of 2022.
The 60-year-old, a 1982 graduate of North Attleboro High School, plans to spend more time with his family, especially his 10 grandchildren.
The official announcement about his retirement was made during Monday night’s town council meeting. North TV will conduct a full interview with Travers before he leaves the office on Tuesday that cable subscribers can see as part of next week's "North TV News.:
