Downtown speed limit reduced to 25 mph

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Public schools in North Attleboro and Plainville kicked off the 2024-25 school year with the start of classes on Wednesday.

Motorists will need to drive carefully in school zones and be aware of the mandatory 20 m.p.h. speed limit.

That includes South Washington Street in front of North Attleboro’s Community School.

In fact, all of South Washington from the traffic light downtown to the CVS on Route 1 and North Washington Street past the former Fran’s Seafood has a lower speed limit, 25 m.p.h.

It was one of the many topics discussed when Michael Borg visited the North TV studio for the recording of his monthly “Town Manager’s Report.”
