NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North TV sports crew delivered three more live games over the past week, starting with a North Attleboro at Bishop Feehan lacrosse doubleheader on April 22 at Feehan’s McGrath Stadium.
The girls took the field at noon for the first game with the Shamrocks rolling to an easy 14-1 victory. Feehan’s Betsy Norko, number-26, had two goals and two assists from her midfield position – including the 100th point of her high school career – to be named our North TV Player of the Game.
The boys followed at 2 p.m. in a game that was much closer. In fact, it went into sudden-death overtime after the Red Rocketeers rallied from an early deficit. Brady Backner, number 26, tied it with 20-seconds remaining, his third goal of the game. The freshman was named our North TV North Attleboro Player of the Game. The Shamrock’s Craig Scharland also recorded a hat trick. The senior captain midfielder was named our North TV Bishop Feehan Player of the Game.
We were at King Philip's Macktaz Field Wednesday for girls’ lacrosse. The Warriors rolled to a 15-2 blowout of Attleboro. Senior attacker Julia Marsden, number-4, scored three of her four goals in the first two-and-a-half minutes to be named our North TV Player of the Game.
Betsy, Brady, Craig and Julia will each receive personalized DVDs of their game, Player of the Game t-shirts in their school colors and North TV sports bags for their efforts.
