NORTH ATTLEBORO - Dictionary.com defines courage as "the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear."
An 11-year-old North Attleboro girl and her family are doing that and more.
Doctors told the parents of Grace Darrah more than a decade ago their infant daughter was unlikely to live to see her first birthday.
Born with an incredibly rare chromosome disorder called Trisomy 9 Mosaic, Grace has beaten the odds by surpassing most of the 500 others across the world with the genetic disorder.
A GoFundMe page titled "Help Needed To Purchase a Modified Van for GRACE" has raised almost $14 thousand of the $65 thousand needed "to transport Grace to where she needs to go."
The special van would make an immeasurable diffence in their lives.
Another fundraiser will be held at Angle Tree Brewery at 45 Elm Street, across from North Attleboro’s fire station, on Saturday, May 18.
North TV visited Grace and her mother Carole Wednesday to learn more and how you can help this courageous girl.
