PLAINVILLE - The candidate whose bid to serve on the select board came up short by 75 votes is stepping from town government.
Sherrilll Minch was defeated by Brian Kelly in the town’s April 4 annual election.
Kelly was reelected with 508 votes, Minch finished with 433.
Minch explained during North TV’s live election night coverage that she was upset about negative posts made about her on social media.
She submitted her resignation from the finance committee during Monday night’s select board meeting.
