NORTH ATTLEBORO - It’s been an extremely busy stretch for the North TV sports crew with seven games over an eight-day stretch.
Last Wednesday, October 14 our crew was at King Philip for the Warriors 2-nil loss at the hands of Franklin. Ava Tormey, number-11 a senior midfielder, was named our North TV Player of the Game.
We were back at KP on Friday, October 16 for boys’ soccer where the Warriors fell to the Panthers 2-1. Senior defender Ajae Olsen, number 13, was named our North TV Player of the Game due to his aggressiveness on the wing and his attack dribbling throughout the game.
Bishop Feehan’s McGrath Stadium was the site of Monday's (October 19) cablecast as the Shamrocks posted a 3-1 field hockey win over Bishop Fenwick. Senior goalie Riley Brennan, number-00, stopped five Fenwick scoring changes to be named our North TV Player of the Game.
Also on Monday, King Philip mashed Milford 4-1 on the girls’ soccer pitch. Senior forward Jenny Montville, number 5, scored three goals for her hat trick to be named our North TV Player of the Game.
We were live at North Attleboro’s Beaupre Field Tuesday night, October 20 for Red Rocketeers’ field hockey. North played undefeated Canton tough before succumbing 4-0. The margin of victory would have been even higher had it not been for the North TV Player of the Game, the Red Rocketeers senior goalie Hannah Bachand, who kicked back a number of Canton shots.
We closed out our busy stretch with a pair of boys’ soccer matches on Wednesday, October 21. North Attleboro was clipped by Canton 1-nil on the pitch to fall to 1-4-1 on the season. Junior goalkeeper David Floyd, number 1, was named our North TV Player of the Game, turning back eight Bulldogs’ shots.
King Philip and undefeated Milford played to a 2-2 tie thanks to a Connor O’Neill goal with only 12 seconds remaining. The senior defensive midfielder, number 11, was named our North TV Player of the Game.
Ava, Ajae, Riley, Jenny, Hannah, David and Connor will each receive DVD copies of their games, North TV Player of the Game shirts in their school colors and a North TV sports bag for their achievements.
