NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North TV sports crew covered three different sports over the past week.
We were at North Attleboro’s William Kelly Field on May 6 when the Red Rocketeers hosted King Philip in a softball game dominated by the two girls in the pitcher’s circle. Sophomore Jo Bennett, number-3, blanked the Red Rocketeers in the 1-0 win to be named our King Philip North TV Player of the Game. North’s Kelly Colleran, number-1, struck out 19 Warriors but still suffered the loss. The junior was named our North Attleboro North TV Player of the Game.
We were at King Philip’s Macktaz Field Monday for boys’ lacrosse action as the Warriors took on Franklin in the battle for first place in the Hockomock League’s Kelley-Rex Division. The Panthers more than doubled King Philip 13-6. Senior midfielder Colin Lightbody, number-24, scored a goal and assisted on another to be named our North TV Player of the Game.
We were a stone’s throw from our North TV studio Wednesday as North Attleboro played Foxboro on the Community Field baseball diamond. The Warriors rallied from a 1-0 deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull out the 3-1 victory. Senior catcher Tyler DeMattio, number-7, scored the Red Rocketeers’ lone run and accounted for two of North’s three hits to be named our North TV Player of the Game.
Jo, Kelly, Colin and Tyler will each receive personalized DVDs of their games, Player of the Game t-shirts in their school colors and a North TV sports bag.
