PLAINVILLE - Local sports history was made Tuesday night when Bill White edged Shawn Seybert in the Attleboro Area Golf Association's first three-hole playoff to determine the group’s 2021 “City Open” champion.
Remnants of Tropical Storm Fred washed out Thursday’s first round scheduled for Foxborough Country Club and another tropical storm, Henri’, forced cancellation of Sunday’s final round at Norton Country Club.
With 2007 champion White and perennial contender Seybert tied for the lead at 1-under-par after 36 holes, the AAGA held a three-hole aggregate playoff.
Not only was it the first in AAGA history, it was also the first time North TV televised golf live.
