NORTH ATTLEBORO - It was another busy week for the North TV sports crew with four games in four nights.
The week kicked off on Tuesday, January 20th with an Attleboro at North basketball doubleheader.
The Red Rocketeers’ opened with a 48-32 win in the girls’ game.
It was a miserable nightcap for the North boys as the Blue Bombardiers jumped out to a 25-0 lead. AHS ended up winning by that same 25-point margin, 63-38.
We were back at the NAHS Pickering Gymnasium that next night for wrestling action. The Red Rocketeers recorded seven pins on their way to a 54-24 crushing of Canton.
The week ended in the King Philip gymnasium. The Warriors whipped Attleboro 59-32 for their eighth win of the season.
Our Player of the Week comes from Wednesday’s mat action.
Michael Canova pinned his opponent 22 seconds into the second period, one of many pins the senior captain has recorded this season, to be named our Player of the Week.
Michael will receive a copy of the match against Canton on a USB drive and a Player of the Week t-shirt in Red Rocketeer red.
We’ll announce our Player of the Week from this week’s five games next week at this time.
