McGrath catches POTW honors in KP rout

WRENTHAM - The North TV sports crew brought viewers a pair of playoff victories last Friday, November 7.

North Attleboro, playing at Community Field because of a scheduling conflict at the high school, had to rally from an early deficit to defeat Milford 21-14.

The win advanced the Red Rocketeers to the quarterfinal round at Barnstable on Friday at 6:30 p.m..

Wrentham was the site of the biggest mismatch of the first round, a 51-0 King Philip crushing of Chicopee Comprehensive at Macktaz Field.

The Warriors advanced to Friday's quarterfinals at home against Mansfield at 6 p.m.

Our Player of the Week comes from the King Philip game.

Liam McGrath, wearing number-1, was the Warriors’ leading receiver with four catches totaling 72 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown toss from Zach Gebhard with 3:02 left in the first quarter to give KP a 24-0 lead.

The 6’5” 175-pound senior then intercepted a pass on the Colts next possession, his team-leading fifth interception of the year.
