PLAINVILLE - A handful of residents attended Monday night’s select board meeting in hopes of having the senior center on School and Spring streets named in honor of Joseph Fernandes.
The longtime town administrator played a key role in the building’s construction after council on aging director Pauline Kirby lobbied for the new center.
Fernandes not only backed the project, he also donated hours of his free time lending his carpentry skills to save the town money.
