NORTH ATTLEBORO - It’s been more than 16 years since an office of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles was located in town, but that may be coming to an end.
An express branch of the RMV offering limited services opened later that year in the basement of the former Attleboro post office adjacent to City Hall.
The state advertised earlier this year that they are looking for a 4,300-square-foot space suitable for a local RMV and a 10-year lease.
There’s a chance that space may be in the Falls section of North Attleboro in the former Fisher College building across from Mason Field.
The property at 451 Elm Street is now owned by the town of North Attleboro.
The news of the RMV potentially coming back to North was disclosed during a recording of Michael Borg's "The Town Manager's Report" program.

That interview with Michael Borg can be seen in its entirety on North TV’s Community and Government channels: Comcast channels 15 and 98 and Verizon channel 23 and 24.
