NORTH ATTLEBORO - The fact that there was only one contested race in North Attleboro may be the reason only 3.03% of the town’s 23,909 registered voters participated in Tuesday’s annual town election.
Four candidates ran for the two three-year seats on the town’s school committee.
Incumbent Sarah Stone led the field with 517 votes.
Katherine Cloutier, who ran with Stone as a team, was also elected with 472 votes.
Francisco Palmarin was a distant third with 192 votes.
John McAdam, who did not campaign, finished fourth with 109 votes.
Stone was re-elected as vice chair of the committee during the board's Wednesday meeting. Tasha Buzzell was re-elected as chair.
