NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town council, during their meeting Monday night, heard from a developer interested in constructing 40R housing near the town's northern border with Plainville.
As part of the meeting set aside for new business, councilors heard a presentation by Marcus Partners about a new development that would be located at the site of the current Stix Driving Range on Kelley Boulevard.
The Massachusetts' state website explains chapter 40R housing as dense residential or mixed-use smart growth zoning districts, including a high percentage of affordable housing units, to be located near transit stations, in areas of concentrated development such as existing city and town centers, and in other highly suitable locations.
