April's town council ballot will be crowded

NORTH ATTLEBORO - It looks like the North TV studio will be busy with candidates seeking one of the nine seats on the town council.

Our partners at The Sun Chronicle reported in Friday’s edition 16 residents have taken out papers ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Council members President Justin Pare, Vice President John Simmons, John Costello, Daniel Donovan, Mark Gould, Andrea Slobogan and Patricia St. Pierre have taken out papers.

David Cannata Jr., Donald Cerrone, Leo Glennon, John Gould Mike Gould, James Lang, Kevin McCarthy, Joseph Rezza, and Laura Wagner have also taken out papers for the council.

Two incumbent councilors hadn’t taken out papers as of Thursday night: Darius Gregory and Andrew Shanahan.

Two three-year school committee seats are up this spring.

Lyndsey Benharris, David Cannata Jr., Eric Gould, Mark Gould, Meaghan Lee and Cari Orsi have taken out papers.

Incumbents David Chee and Ethan Hamilton are not running for reelection.
