NORTH ATTLEBORO - Whiting’s Pond reopened Friday after it was closed last week after tests conducted by the board of health found higher levels of the e-coli bacteria than allowed by the state.
The bacteria can cause gastrointestinal difficulties for people exposed.
The pond was closed last weekend, when feel-like temperatures were in the 90s. The Barbara Street beach on Falls Pond and the World War II Memorial Pool were open.
Director of Parks and Recreation Steve Carvalho spoke to North TV on Friday about the closure.
