NORTH ATTLEBORO - North TV's weekly newscast was sidelined the past two weeks due to our year in review special.
As a result, we are behind on announcing our North TV Players of the Week for the winter sports season.
We brought you two games the week of December 11, North entertaining Canton in boys’ basketball and North and Stoughton skating on the ice at Attleboro’s New England Sports Center. Our Player of the Week for week one was #9 Kaden Burns, the senior forward recorded a hat trick in the Red Rocketeers 13-1 rout in their season opener.
We were in Franklin the week of December 18 for a pair of Tri-County games. Norfolk Aggie visited the Cougars in girls’ basketball that Monday, while Bristol-Plymouth took to the mat against Tri-County on Wednesday. Our North TV Player of the Week was the Cougar’s Anthony Gagne. Wrestling at 190 pounds, Gagne was one of the bright spots in the 47-30 loss to the Craftsmen.
We were live with a doubleheader last Friday, December 29. The North girls’ basketball team hosted Medway in a matinee game, followed by the Bishop Feehan vs. North rivalry a little later. Our Player of the Week was the Shamrocks’ #34 Brody Bumila. The 6’7” sophomore led the way with 22-points and 11-rebounds in Feehan’s 77 to 45 win.
Kaden, Anthony and Brody will each receive DVD copies of their games and Player of the Week t-shirts in their school colors. We’ll announce our Player of the Week for week four next week at this time.
