PLAINVILLE - Only 11.9 percent of the town's registered voters turned out to decide the three contested races on the annual town election ballot.

There will be a new face on the town's select board, as Maggie Clarke won easily over incumbent Stanley Widak for a three-year seat.

KING PHILIP SCHOOL COMMITTEE
Gregory Wehmeyer, 12 months after winning an election for a one-year seat on the King Philip Regional School Committee, was elected to a full three-year term after defeating Daniel Amicone.

PLANNING BOARD
Thomas McHugh defeated Tina Desprez for the open five-year seat on the planning board, a seat held by Robert Davis, who opted not to seek reelection.

Tuesday's election was the last for Ellen Robertson, who retired yesterday after 15 years as the town clerk. She will be succeeded by Cynthia Bush, who ran unopposed for the position.
